"...When I think of words to describe these works, there really aren’t any because I paint when words will not suffice. D(re)am Construction is the unspoken expression of my story. It speaks to hardship, pain, loneliness, and grief… but more importantly, it speaks to connection, faith, love, and the power of radical joy. Each piece I create holds deeply personal meaning, but the interpretation only begins with me.

     As an artist, I often spend the least amount of time with a work. In my view, it is the audience that creates the meaning. As art lives with us, hanging in our homes, our interpretation shifts over time. Even the simple act of observing how art changes with the lighting in our home—morning, day, night—can change what we see, affecting how we feel. That is the purpose of this exhibition: to highlight those shifts and remind us that art can be as dynamic, emotional, and unique as we are.
